IIFA 2020 Gets Postponed To Another Date Due To Coronavirus Scare; Read Official Statement Here
The 21st Edition of IIFA which was going to kickstart from March 27 has now been postponed. Thanks to the rapid spread of Coronavirus in India and the world, the organisers of IIFA have decided to change the dates of the awards function. International Indian Film Academy Awards had planned to organise the prestigious gala in Madhya Pradesh this year, however, the latest announcement from the management team suggests that it will now happen sometime later.

The official Instagram accoun of IIFA released an official statement on the same. In the statement, it has been stated that due to Coronavirus, the organisers are not willing to put at risk the health of IIFA fans and the general community at large, hence, post consulting with Madhya Pradesh government, it has been decided that the event will take place sometime later. No official date has been locked as of yet.

Along with the statement, IIFA organisers tweeted, "We will be back with new plans in Madhya Pradesh! Please take the necessary precautions and stay safe."  


A part of the official statement read, "IIFA is fully committed to ensure the safety of the citizens and legions of IIFA fans who travel from across the globe to attend and experience the magic of IIFA. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused, and hope that all concerned understand the sensitivity of the situation."


Recently, IIFA 2020 press meet was held in Mumbai. Katrina Kaif and Kartik Aaryan were the special guests at the event.
